Thomas Scott died from wounds on 29th May, 1915, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 2nd Essex battalion was part of 12 Brigade, 4th Division, that had been on the Western Front since the start of the war and had spent the winter of 1914-15 in the Ploegsteert sector.
